SOL 3D Scanner Software Update Brings Faster Speed, Catalina Support

Free Upgrade Available Now

Chantilly, VA — January 14, 2020 — Scan Dimension®, developer of 3D scanning, imaging, and realization technology, today announces an update to its SOL 3D scanning software. The update provides a boost in scanning speed, significantly reducing the time it takes to digitally produce a 3D representation of an object with the SOL scanner, while achieving high-quality results.

The upgrade also adds support for macOS Catalina 10.15. The update is recommended for all Mac-using SOL owners. Both the upgraded macOS version and the Windows software are available from the Scan Dimension website. Mac users can also choose Check for Updates in their current software.

“Our engineers are continually advancing the SOL 3D scanner, and our customers will appreciate the faster scanning speed and support for macOS Catalina,” comments Rune Steenberg, Head of Global Marketing, Global Scanning. “The latest update is making it easier than ever for SOL users to share, print, or save their projects for future use.”

The SOL 3D scanner was introduced in April 2019 to rave reviews. 3D experts laud the scanner for its quality and precision, with one expert hailing it as the best experience with 3D scanning ever. The SOL scanner is an ideal tool for hobbyists, makers, entrepreneurs, and educators to capture 3D representations of a wide range of objects.

Customers regard the SOL 3D scanner as “just brilliant,” with “software so simple a 10-year-old mastered it in a few minutes.” SOL customers also have access to 6 GB of storage on p3d.in, an online service specifically designed for storing and sharing 3D models.

SOL retails for $599 and is available for purchase at ScanDimension.com or Amazon.com.
