3D-Tool CAD-Viewer and Converter - Version 14

October 28, 2019 -- Version 14 of the 3D-Tool CAD Viewer and Converter has improved the user-friendliness even more. In the 3D-Tool viewer, assemblies and parts can now be filtered and selected based on strings and regular expressions. For a quick evaluation of injection molded parts, the alignment of mold separation has been simplified in the 3D-Tooling Analysis. To facilitate the calculation of surface treatments a new function provides the calculation of surface area for individual areas of a component.

There are three versions of 3D-Tool available: Basic, Advanced and Premium – ranging in price from 150 to 600 Euro. 3D-Tool Basic opens STL, 3DS, VRML and other 3D visualization formats. 3D-Tool Advanced supports the 3D exchange formats STEP, IGES, VDA, SAT and Parasolid. For native CAD models from CATIA, Siemens, NX, Creo, SolidWorks, SolidEdge and Inventor as well as for the JT format 3D-Tool Premium is required.

Native 2D drawings from CATIA and SolidWorks are now supported in the Premium version of the viewer. The 3D-NativeCAD Converter, which is only included in 3D-Tool Premium, enables the conversion of native CAD models into the 3D exchange formats STEP, IGES, VDA, SAT and Parasolid, for downstream use in other applications

3D-Tool publishes 3D models in the 3D-Tool format DDD and in the 3D PDF format for Adobe Reader. For DDD files, there is the FreeViewer available on the 3D-Tool website. Alternatively, 3D-Tool bundles the FreeViewer and the model into a directly executable EXE-file for Windows. The FreeViewer and the EXE files contain all of the important measurement and analysis functions as the full version.

The full functionality of the 3D-Tool CAD-Viewer and Converter may be tested for 14 days. The software and further information can be found on the 3D-Tool website www.3D-Tool.com.

Because of how easy it is to use, the 3D-Tool viewer is a valuable tool for obtaining and passing on the information your company handles.
