Sigmetrix has been providing full lifecycle tolerance and variation analysis tools to engineers worldwide for 20 years
MCKINNEY, Texas
– September 3, 2019 – Sigmetrix, global experts in GD&T and mechanical variation, is celebrating its 20th anniversary. From its early beginnings as a producibility tools group within Texas Instruments, Sigmetrix became an independent corporation on September 1, 2009. Over the last 20 years Sigmetrix has matured into a successful and growing company with worldwide reach.
James Stoddard, one of the original seven founders of Sigmetrix in 1999 has been with the team since the very beginning and now serves as its president. Stoddard and 2 other current employees all worked together on the original Texas Instruments team developing TI/TOL (Texas Instruments Tolerance Analysis) – the predecessor of
CETOL (Concurrent Engineering Tolerance Analysis). The technology behind TI/TOL originated out of the ADCATS group founded in 1984 by Dr. Ken Chase at BYU and in 1990 the first release of TI/TOL hit the market. See the history of Sigmetrix

“This anniversary marks a wonderful milestone for Sigmetrix and all who have been a part of it along the way. It attests to our ability to not just survive, but grow and meet the changing market demands,” said James Stoddard, President of Sigmetrix. “We have a passion to make the world better and safer by improving product quality while ensuring profitability for all of our customers. This culture that we have created at Sigmetrix is the driving force in our company and will allow us to continue to be successful long into the future.”
Sigmetrix continues to improve its technology offerings through new partnerships, new products, and continued enhancements. Over the past 20 years Sigmetrix has formed partnerships with industry leaders including PTC, SOLIDWORKS, Dassault Systems, Autodesk and is in the process with Siemens NX. These relationships have helped Sigmetrix become recognized globally for providing software solutions that analyze mechanical variation ranging in complexity from simple 1D stack-ups to mathematically complex 3D analyses. Their precise, easy-to-use software solutions are used by systems, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers worldwide to verify functionality and optimize designs helping them be robust to variation. They also offer
comprehensive GD&T, tolerance analysis, Model-Based Definition, and Model-Based Enterprise training.
