DesignGroup to present at 2019 Healthcare Facilities Symposium & Expo in Boston

Columbus’ own Chris Haedt and Angela Kolosky present ‘Is Your Emergency Department Sending an SOS?’

COLUMBUS, Ohio July -- 17, 2019 -- Two DesignGroup architects – along with their clients from Norton Brownsboro Hospital (Louisville) and Morris Hospital (Southwest Chicago metropolitan area) – will present an informative talk at the 2019 Healthcare Facilities Symposium in September. The talk will focus on how design and planning can improve emergency department efficiencies for clinical staff and patients.

The session will help attendees evaluate whether their system’s current emergency department model is working and in line with their healthcare brand and clinical goals. The group will discuss clinical innovation in emergency departments at two different healthcare systems as well as the architectural and design response to each.

DesignGroup architect, Chris Haedt

With 16 years of experience, DesignGroup’s Chris Haedt, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C, is a designer and medical planner with a technical understanding of the complexities of healthcare architecture. As one of DesignGroup's thought leaders in healthcare and Building Information Technology, he uses models to visually communicate design vision and progress as he works with healthcare clients to overcome challenges and reach consensus throughout design. Notably, Haedt is the designer for a $167 million bed tower addition to the Norton Healthcare Brownsboro Campus. Working with Norton Healthcare over the past seven years, he has used virtual reality to help them implement new concepts into practical applications. Haedt’s areas of expertise include healthcare environments, master planning, emergency departments and Building Information Modeling (BIM).

DesignGroup architect, Angela Kolosky

DesignGroup’s  Angela Kolosky, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C, offers a unique perspective to healthcare planning with a strong design and research background. Kolosky holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University and a Master of Science degree in Building Performance and Diagnostics from Carnegie Mellon University. Her research experience includes studying the impacts of design decisions on patient and staff outcomes. As a project architect and healthcare planner, Kolosky brings this thinking to every project and has a passion for creating impactful, positive spaces for critical and vulnerable populations.
