Xometry’s Senior Manager Ryan Kelly Speaking at Industry Week’s Manufacturing & Technology Event

GAITHERSBURG, Md. and LEXINGTON, Ky., (March 28, 2019) - Ryan Kelly, Xometry’s Senior Project Manager, is a panelist in a session entitled “ It Takes Two To Tango: How to Keep Both Suppliers and Customers Satisfied” at Industry Week’s Manufacturing and Technology Expo on April 2 in Pittsburgh. The panel is sponsored by Dassault Systemes and moderated by Industry Week’s Supply Chain Advisor, Paul Ericksen.

The session will review the various supplier management options open to OEMs. These options set the tone for overall supplier and customer business relationships. Kelly will provide the perspective from Xometry, an industry leader revolutionizing and reshaping the manufacturing supply chain through technology.

“I take a rather antagonistic approach to this topic, as I believe traditional sourcing practices don’t lead to a competitive advantage because the focus is almost always on part price reduction at the bid level,” Kelly said. “This can only lead to modest incremental improvements and strain supplier relationships. I hope to introduce the audience to new technologies and new ways of thinking that can aid their sourcing.”

Xometry is the largest online marketplace for custom manufacturing and recently launched Xometry Supplies which is an eCommerce marketplace that sells materials and tooling for manufacturers.
