Ixia’s 400GE test solutions and Innovium’s TERALYNX Switch showcase interoperability at multiple speeds as companies move to 400GE and 4x100GE
SANTA ROSA, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — March 5, 2019 — Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS), a leading technology company that helps enterprises, service providers and governments accelerate innovation to connect and secure the world, today announced successful interoperability of Ixia’s 400 GE test solutions with the TERALYNX™ Switch silicon from Innovium, Inc., a leading provider of networking switch solutions for data centers. The companies will participate in a live multi-speed 400 Gigabit Ethernet (GE) interoperability demonstration at the Optical Fiber Communications (OFC) Conference and Exhibition March 5-7, 2019 at the San Diego, CA Convention Center.
The ecosystem to support 100GE to 400GE is growing rapidly as hyperscale cloud service providers, carriers, service providers, and enterprises with data centers such as financial services companies plan to adopt higher bandwidth Ethernet speeds. It is important that the companies in the ecosystem work together to support the move to 400GE with joint, robust solutions.
“This interoperability demonstration illustrates the companies in the 400GE ecosystem working together to support the evolution of 400GE,” said Sunil Kalidindi, vice president of product management at Keysight’s Ixia Solutions Group. “These tests show the versatility of our 400GE solutions for testing high density switch silicon and different types of optical transceivers for 400GE and 200GE speeds as well as the forthcoming 4x100GE and 8X50GE multi-rate Ethernet speeds that these optics will eventually support. As the ecosystem evolves, new implementations of 100GE and 50GE based on PAM4 signaling will enable companies with data centers to realize the benefits of 400GE no matter where these high-speed networking products are deployed within the data center.”
The Ixia AresONE-400GE test system enables network equipment providers to test high-port-density devices such as routers, switches and servers for all Ethernet speeds, 400GE/200GE/100GE/50GE, based on the IEEE802.3bs and IEEE802.3cd standards. AresONE is the first high-density 8-port 400GE test system available in a 2 rack-unit (RU) fixed chassis based on 56 Gb/s electrical interface with PAM-4 encoded signaling that supports both OSFP or QSFP-DD pluggable interfaces. AresONE runs IxNetwork, Ixia‘s field-proven L2/3 emulation performance and scale test software. AresONE is available in full and reduced performance, 4-port and 8-port models.
“Customers are keen on interoperability validation to give them confidence that their end-to-end heterogeneous networks built with high-capacity switches, DAC cables, active copper cables, and optics modules operate reliably and error free while delivering the highest performance,” said Amit Sanyal, VP of Product Management and Marketing at Innovium. “Innovium, the only provider of a low-latency, programmable 12.8Tbps switch silicon in the market, is excited to partner with Ixia to show interoperability with AresONE, an industry-leading test system.”
TERALYNX offers the world’s fastest 12.8 Terabits/sec throughput while delivering line-rate programmability, large on-chip buffers, breakthrough telemetry, and low-latency. TERALYNX supports 10GbE to 400GbE Ethernet and delivers 128 ports of 100GbE, 64 ports of 200GbE or 32 ports of 400GbE in a single device. Innovium’s patented ground-up design in TERALYNX provides customers clear advantages in programmability, robust tunneling, low latency, power efficiency and advanced analytics/telemetry that are essential for scale data centers.
