August 21, 2018 -- The world-focused United Nations World Geospatial Information Conference(UNWGIC) will be held in Deqing, Zhejiang Province in another 100 days. August 11, the 100-day countdown to the Congress, marks a milestone moment for China to present a world splendor to promote the common prosperity and development in the field of global geospatial information.
The congress, covering from November 19 to 21, 2018, is hosted by the United Nations, undertaken by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Zhejiang Provincial Government. It serves as a window for geospatial information related enterprises to fully display their brands and technological achievements to the world.
With the overarching theme "the Geospatial Way to a Better World", the Congress aims to anticipate future trends in geospatial information, to promote better services of national geospatial information and technologies in the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Agenda 2030, and to jointly address the development challenges facing all countries and the world. The Congress will bring together all stakeholders at the highest level, including governments, non-governmental organizations, academic and research institutions, and the private sector.
The UNWGIC will have four plenary sessions, seven themes and 35 parallel sessions, covering wide range of fields and aspects, including digital economy, sustainable development, geospatial information capacity building and intelligent society.
Meanwhile, the UNWGIC Technology and Application Exhibition will be held from November 19 to 23. The exhibition hall covers an area of 12400m2 and is expected to receive 30,000 visitors during the five-day period. The exhibition will focus on four major themes: intelligent equipment, intelligent applications, location based services and future life. It will showcase the state-of-the-art technologies, products and application solutions in geospatial information, satellite navigation, aerospace remote sensing, location services, artificial intelligence, big data and Internet of things from the world leading companies, academic and research institutions, as well as other related organizations from across the globe.
