Dr. Tzu-Yin Chiu is the non-executive Vice Chairman of Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation ("SMIC"), one of the leading semiconductor foundries in the world and the largest and most advanced foundry in mainland China. Dr. Chiu assumed his current position on his retirement from SMIC in May 2017. Prior to that, Dr. Chiu served as SMIC's CEO beginning in August 2011. Dr. Chiu serves on the Board of SMIC, also since August 2011. In addition, Dr. Chiu served as Vice Council Chairman of China Semiconductor Industry Association (CSIA) and a board member of Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA). He is also a member of the Engineering Advisory Board of University of California, Berkeley.
