THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn., Feb. 14, 2018 — (PRNewswire) —  National Engineers Week in North America is making another appearance next week and Digi-Key Electronics, a global electronic components distributor, is holding its 4th annual celebration of the event which was created by the National Society of Professional Engineers. The theme of 2018 is "Inspiring Wonder" and Digi-Key is offering tools and insight to help engineers continue to inspire wonder through their products and designs. Engineers visiting digikey.com can win prizes to enable their new and improved designs.

Fluke Ultimate Engineering Kit

As part of a series of activities annually held by Digi-Key, the company will feature a link to a daily word jumble on the homepage of its website beginning Monday, February 19. Each day, 25 participants who answer correctly will be chosen at random to receive a Fluke175 Multimeter. In addition, participants who submit a correct answer for each of the daily puzzles will be automatically entered for the drawing of the grand prize of a Fluke Ultimate Engineering Kit, for a total of up to five entries. The kit features approximately $6,000 worth of assorted Fluke products.

Also, in their ongoing support of STEM in schools, Digi-Key will be spending the entire week working with local schools in a community outreach effort. Engineering employees will be visiting the local grade school, middle school, and high school to talk about the value of engineering and technology as well as help students with hands-on projects, including programming with the Pimoroni micro:bit.

"National Engineers Week gives Digi-Key an opportunity to spotlight the innovation of our customers and their efforts, both in small and grand ways, to advance civilization," said Randall Restle, VP, Applications Engineering. "We also want to bring engineering to life for kids and educators to inspire wonder in technology that will create engineering opportunities for many, many years to come."
