"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" In 3D Soars To The Top Of The Box Office

3D SCREENINGS ACCOUNT FOR AN ESTIMATED 34% OF WORLDWIDE TICKET SALES AND APPROXIMATELY $153M OF BOX OFFICE

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 17, 2017 — (PRNewswire) —  Today, RealD, Inc. the world's largest 3D cinema platform and leading visual technology company, announced that Lucasfilm's Star Wars: The Last Jedi earned an impressive 34% of its worldwide gross from 3D performances of the film. $153 million of the total estimated nearly $450 million worldwide box office gross came from 3D ticket sales and an estimated $76 million was collected from RealD equipped locations. This does not include the China market which exhibits almost entirely in 3D. Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres in China on January 5, 2018. 

In the United States, approximately 30% of the film's opening ticket sales came from 3D performances.
