Napatech's Key Design Win with TOYO Offers APAC and Global Customers Enhanced Test and Measurement Mechanisms

Leading APAC Solution Provider TOYO Chooses Napatech 100G Traffic Replay for Its High-Speed Network Recorder

COPENHAGEN, Denmark, Dec. 7, 2017 — (PRNewswire) —  Napatech™ (OSLO: NAPA.OL), the leading provider of reconfigurable computing platforms, today announced a key design win in APAC as TOYO Corporation's ICT business unit has chosen Napatech's FPGA SmartNIC and software for its capture and replay solution. Synesis is a high-speed, streaming-to-disk capture system from TOYO Corporation that provides lossless traffic capture at up to 100G Ethernet speeds.

With network operators rapidly upgrading their infrastructure to 100 Gigabit Ethernet to account for the hyper-scale performance requirements of cloud, 5G mobile and IoT services, the time is right for the Synesis 100G capture and replay solution. The solution offers telecom and data center operators the ability to capture traffic without any packet loss and replay it as received on the network. Napatech SmartNICs offer nanosecond-precision timestamping, which allows the packets to be replayed with the same interframe gap and timing as when they were captured.

Benefits of the 100G traffic capture and replay solution:

  • Performance measurement at 100G: With this solution, users can now capture and replay IP traffic to measure end-to-end performance and Quality of Service for network speeds of up to 100G.
  • Faster, cost-efficient testing: Napatech's ability to perform precision timestamping makes deployment of large-scale test setups with real traffic extremely fast and cost efficient. Furthermore, Napatech is based on open and standard computing that involves low deployment costs, making it cheaper than building a custom piece of hardware.
  • Robust infrastructure: By simulating and replaying different traffic setups based on worst-case scenarios, the infrastructure can be made more robust.

Yoshiyuki Saitoh, CIO, TOYO, said: "We believe that 100G replay will be key for future trouble-shooting solutions. Of course, it is always a challenge for us to provide 100G or higher speed solutions with high reliability, but with our continuing collaboration with our reliable partner Napatech, we can overcome this challenge and continue to innovate."

Ken Way, Chief Sales Officer, Napatech said: "TOYO Corporation is a recognized leader among many Japanese engineering firms. Their Synesis products are sought-after tools by network engineers building the most advanced datacenter and mobile networks. We are pleased that our FPGA-based SmartNIC software and hardware solutions are helping them to provide the latest breakthroughs in test and measurement for the most sophisticated networks in the world."
