University of Southern California will gather geospatial industry professionals (Esri, Boeing, Alteryx& more) & students from six SoCal universities to examine trends in Geospatial Science
Los Angeles, CA, Nov 28, 2017 -- John P. Wilson, Professor and Director, USC Spatial Sciences Institute, and the Program Committee of the Los Angeles Geospatial Summit have announced the details of their hallmark one-day conference: The Annual Los Angeles Geospatial Summit will take place at the USC Radisson Hotel (3540 S Figueroa Street Los Angeles CA 90007) on Friday, February 23, 2018 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The event will feature addresses and discussions from many leading innovators in the world of geographic information science (GIS) and technology as well as presentations from students representing California State University, Long Beach; California State University, Northridge; Rio Hondo College; University of California, Riverside; University of Redlands, and University of Southern California. Partner organizations on the event include SoCal URISA, U.S. Geological Survey, U.S. Geospatial Intelligence Foundation, and Women in GIS.

collaborate with a cross-cutting array of researchers, businesses, nonprofits, NGOs, and other entities from a wide range of disciplines and industries to analyze, model, and visualize location-based data," said Wilson. "

[SK1] there are many geospatial conferences across the country and around the world, our Summit has the distinctive mission to connect current leaders in the spatial sciences with undergraduate and graduate students and alumni from numerous different academic institutions who are the next generation of innovators."
The summit will kick off with a keynote from Jeff Jonas, Founder and Chief Scientist for Senzing. Dubbed the "Wizard of Big Data" by National Geographic, Jonas is an acclaimed data scientist who thrives on solving some of the world's most complex business challenges.

Fees:
Early bird registration (ending January 23, 2018) is $85
As of January 24, 2018, registration is $100.
CGIA and SoCal URISA members get a registration rate of $70.
Student registration is $50.
Registration includes a continental breakfast and lunch.
Parking
Event self-parking rate at the USC Radisson Hotel is $12/day. The USC Radisson Hotel is conveniently located near the Jefferson station and the Exposition Park station on the Metro Expo Line.
