Identify3D Presents Secure Digital Manufacturing Proof of Concept at formnext

SAN FRANCISCO — (BUSINESS WIRE) — November 14, 2017 — At formnext, Identify3D, a leader in software for the digital supply chain, will demonstrate a proof of concept (PoC) of a secure end-to-end digital manufacturing process. Data protection becomes increasingly important as 3D Printing enters into industrial manufacturing environments. As a result, companies are looking for solutions to secure intellectual property and control their assets. Identify3D has set up a joint initiative in the AM industry to help create data protection throughout the entire additive manufacturing process.

This initiative will allow users, such as industrial designers, to encrypt and transfer design files with controlled access and authorization. At formnext, Identify3D presents a PoC in collaboration with Materialise that demonstrates the integration of secure intellectual property in the Additive Manufacturing process. This will enable sectors such as aerospace, automotive, defense, and healthcare to apply Additive Manufacturing in a secured manufacturing environment.

“We have identified the importance of having high-level security through every stage of the Additive Manufacturing process,” said Joe Inkenbrandt, Chief Executive Officer at Identify3D. “We are pleased to work with a leading player in the AM industry to provide design protection and production integrity throughout the digital manufacturing lifecycle.”

“As highly regulated industries like aerospace and healthcare embrace Additive Manufacturing technology as a way to optimize their production process, they also face new challenges such as data authenticity and integrity,” says Stefaan Motte, Vice President Software at Materialise. “Together with Identify3D, we are exploring new opportunities to deliver these enhanced security features to our customers.”

Identify3D will be holding live presentations about this PoC at the following time and place:

Identify 3D booth 3.1 – A37

Materialise booth 3.0 – C48

November 14th, at 3:00 PM GMT

November 17th, at 10:00 AM GMT
