Awards program recognizes individuals and member companies for outstanding contributions and accomplishments that advance the organization’s mission
PISCATAWAY, N.J. & BANGALORE, India — (BUSINESS WIRE) — October 25, 2017 — The MIPI® Alliance, an international organization that develops interface specifications for mobile and mobile-influenced industries, today announced the 2017 MIPI Alliance Membership Award winners. The luncheon awards ceremony took place during the Alliance’s member meeting being held at the Leela Palace, Bangalore, India.
“As MIPI Alliance continues to develop specifications to address requirements for hardware and software integration in mobile, IoT, automotive and other areas, it’s important to recognize the people behind these advancements,” said Joel Huloux, chairman of the board of MIPI Alliance. “Each year we honor those who have demonstrated exemplary commitment to our efforts. We also want to thank all our members for their ongoing support and participation, as we recently have surpassed our 300-member mark and are looking forward to celebrating our 15-year anniversary next year.”
The annual MIPI Alliance Membership Awards Program recognizes outstanding contributions and achievements by individual and corporate members. An awards and recognition committee appointed by the board of directors receives nominations from MIPI Alliance members and selects the award winners.
This year’s program honored five award recipients. Awards were given in three categories: Corporate, Working Group Leadership and Distinguished Service.
The Corporate Award was presented to Toshiba Corporation for its outstanding contributions to MIPI Alliance for more than a decade. Demonstrating a strong commitment to the Alliance’s success, Toshiba’s employees have helped to define key specifications such as MIPI CSI-2SM, MIPI DSI SM, MIPI I3CSM, MIPI UniPro® and MIPI physical layers. Toshiba also has positioned many individuals to serve in various leadership roles, with significant contributions from company representatives on the board of directors, and in chair roles for the Camera Working Group, Marketing Working Group and the MIPI UniPro Working Group.
The Working Group Leadership Award is presented to a leader within a working group in recognition of noteworthy contributions to the group’s activities or specification development work. Two individuals were recognized for their efforts this year. Kevin Yee of Cadence Design Systems, Inc. received the award in recognition of his exemplary leadership and dedication to the Marketing Steering Group. James Goel of Qualcomm Incorporated received the award in recognition of his significant contributions and dedication to the Display Working Group.
The Distinguished Service Award recognizes individuals impacting the MIPI Alliance specification development process or those contributing by serving on the board of directors, a working group or helping in the areas of marketing and testing. Two individuals were recognized for their contributions this year. Radu Pitigoi-Aron of Qualcomm Incorporated received the award in recognition of his outstanding dedication and service to the development of the MIPI I3CSM sensor integration specification. SK Choi of Keysight Technologies Inc. received the award in recognition of his outstanding dedication and service to help develop the MIPI PHY Conformance Test Suites.
