Leica iCON excavate systems now support Excidor AB tilt rotator control system

New development in Leica iCON iXE solutions to complete projects more efficiently

Heerbrugg, Switzerland, 30 August 2017 -  Leica Geosystems, industry leader in measurement technology, announced today its iCON excavate machine control solutions now support tilt and rotator control systems manufactured by Excidor AB, a leading developer and manufacturer of ergonomically designed control systems, software, keypads and electronics for operator environments.

Together, Leica Geosystems and Excidor AB technology enable customers to manage their speed in competing tasks to meet productivity goals.

This new partnership enables the Leica iCON excavate iXE2 and iXE3 multifunctional 2D and 3D control systems to read the rotation value through the Excidor ExciControl TRC, primarily found in forestry machinery, excavators and wheel loaders. Created to increase productivity and maximise the use and benefits of the machine control solution, the iCON 3D can read and calculate the bucket’s rotation and accurately guide the operator to the desired grade.

“This new partnership ensures precision and ease-of-use that allows the operator to get the job done more efficiently,” said Johan Arnberg, president of the Leica Geosystems Machine Control Division. “The Leica 2D and 3D solutions in combination with a tilt rotator, provides a significant boost to the project output by making excavating easier and more productive.”

Increasing productivity

The Leica Geosystems and Excidor AB technology enables customers to manage their speed in competing tasks to meet productivity goals. Effective and efficient equipment can significantly reduce downtime, operating costs and make business more competitive.

“We are delighted to work with Leica Geosystems to increase machine control efficiency,” said Sören Byström, CEO at Excidor AB. “Bringing dramatic developments in grading efficiency, we aim to make our customer’s projects easy, cost-effective and maximise up-time.”
