JBC is sponsoring the IPC’s Hand Soldering Competition at the SMT Hybrid Packaging in Nuremberg (Germany) and the East China PCB / SMT Exhibition in Suzhou.
May 12, 2017 -- The company, as a Gold Sponsor, will provide the competitors with two DME stations, which allow a simultaneous connection of 4 tools for soldering or desoldering, as well as its new smart fume extractor.
The SMT Hybrid Packaging 2017 takes place at the Nuremberg Site & Exhibition Center on May 16-18. The 13th East China PCB / SMT Exhibition is held instead at the Suzhou Expo Center on May 17-19.
About the competition
These contests recognize the best skills in hand soldering complex printed board assemblies.
Over three days, participants will compete against each other to build a functional electronics assembly within a 60-minute time limit. Assemblies will be judged on soldering in accordance with IPC-A-610F Class 3 criteria, the speed at which the assembly was produced and overall electrical functionality of the assembly. IPC-A-610 Master Instructors will serve as judges.
Between 2011 and today, regional IPC Hand Soldering Competitions have been organized in the USA, Germany, UK, Poland, Sweden, France, Italy, Russia, Japan, South Korea, China, Thailand, Taiwan and Indonesia. The World Championships have been held in the USA and China. The number of competitors for the regional events has continually increased with many events exceeding capacity for competitors.
JBC awards the winner
The three top winners of these local IPC Hand Soldering Competitions would receive cash awards. The winner of each location is given an opportunity to compete in the IPC World Hand Soldering Championship Competition, which will be held at productronica Munich this November.
In addition, JBC will award the best-of-the-best with a
CD-2BE Compact Soldering station.
