Kisters enhances 3DViewStation with revolutionary rendering performance and photo realistic rendering

Additional 3D enhancements also announced

Sacramento, Calif. – Feb. 9, 2017 –  Kisters North America has released version 2017 of its 3DViewStation Desktop, a powerful 3D CAD viewer and universal viewer for engineers and designers. The new version features several updates, including revolutionary rendering performance and rendering quality.

Known for its modern user-interface, high performance viewing, advanced analysis and integration capabilities into leading systems, 3DViewStation ships with current and mature importers for a broad range of 3D and 2D formats including i.e. Catia, NX, Creo, SolidWorks, SolidEdge, Inventor, JT, 3D-PDF, STEP, DWG, DXF, DWF, MS Office and many more.

“The goal of the 2017 release was to ensure that even ultra large assemblies can be rendered fluently on average to small PCs with standard onboard graphics accelerators like Intel’s HD series. Kisters 3DViewStation proves that this is possible.” said Jim Eardly, Kisters North America Sales Manager.  “Graphics speed is now even better on built-in Intel HD series, compared to external graphics accelerators. Using 3DViewStation’s progressive load and rendering, there are no long wait times during load of large assemblies. And users will experience smooth rotation and zoom.”

“Additional options have also been added to 3DViewStation to render CAD models more realistic,” he added. “Materials can be applied as well as a Skybox, which influences reflections, as well as a static background image.”

Upgrades include:

1)     New file format support has been added for:

  • SolidEdge ST9
  • Solidworks 2017
  • NX 11
  • HiCAD

2)     New functions have been added:

  • save selections
  • prevent object from section / recoloring / ghosting / transparency / material / visibility change
  • wall thickness analysis method: rolling ball
  • animations - allow rotation of objects

3)     The vectorization and 2D output to DXF has been significantly enhanced

The new features of 3DViewStation can be reviewed in more detail at http://blog.kisters.de.

According to Eardly, the Kisters 3DViewStation is continuously enhanced in response to customer needs and requirements. It is available as Desktop, ActiveX and HTML5 WebViewer product-versions. All product flavors are intended to be used together with a PLM, ERP or other management system product configuration or service and spare part applications, providing all necessary APIs. For cloud, portal and web-solutions, there is an HTML5-based WebViewer solution available, which does not require client installation. All file formats can be used in combination with the intelligent navigation and hyperlinking features to address needs of complex integration scenarios.
