Allegorithmic Releases New Themed Library: Substance Source - Architecture Selection

200 Ready-to-Render PBR Materials Available for AEC Design and Visualization Projects; Full Compatibility with V-Ray, Corona and Iray

Autodesk University 2016, LAS VEGAS, NV, November 16, 2016 – Today,  Allegorithmic releases the Substance Source - Architecture Selection, an extract of the new  Substance Source material library that can satisfy an architect or arch-viz pro’s most common daily needs. Physically based, these assets can be dropped into any 3D scene, providing photorealistic results for frequently used materials like concrete, marble, glass, paint, leather, wood, metal, textiles and brick.

The library launches with 200 render-ready assets, designed in collaboration with a former material library director for  Wilmotte & Associates. While built for final visualization, each material is  tweakable, giving designers the leeway to adjust everything from color to procedural patterns. Quality settings are also available, providing an easy way to optimize material resolution for different projects, up to 4K.

“One of the big requests we’ve heard from architects and visualization teams is that creating photorealistic materials from scratch, or even creating them from photos, was exceedingly time consuming, almost prohibitively so,” said Pierre Maheut, product manager for architecture and industrial design at Allegorithmic. “Having the ability to add high-quality materials with just a few clicks will make the process more accessible to everyone.”

Substance Source materials are ready for use with top industry renderers like V-Ray, Corona and Iray, bringing the high-res designs to stills and animations. The materials are also optimized for real-time and VR environments, including game engines like Unreal and Unity. Now anyone on the visualization team can quickly and easily add more detail and fidelity to their interactive projects.

In the coming months, Allegorithmic will continue to expand this selection with regular updates, including scanned and procedural materials.
