PDF3D V2.13 Release Targets Engineering and Manufacturing Workflows in 3D

3D PDF conversion software leaders, PDF3D, today announce V2.13, a major update for their entire suite of products including PDF3D SDK, XML Server, ReportGen and PV+. ReportGen users can expect a step-change in the user experience, while developers can exploit expanded API features.

July 15, 2016 - Visual Technology Services, the developers of the popular 3D PDF conversion and reporting tools, have released PDF3D V2.13, their latest major update with a focus on architectural upgrades. PDF3D now includes Visual Studio 2015 for developers, user experience improvements, and enhanced work-flow features for those working with 3D data, models, and designs for 3D PDF documents. The release is used world-wide by digital content creators, engineers, scientists and 3D app developers.

The key target of revising user experience with PDF3D ReportGen has been achieved by responding to community feedback making it far easier to use for both novice and power users.

Aimed at a range of engineering, manufacturing, geospatial and earth science industries, the PDF3D tools continue to evolve and lead the way in enterprise-strength solutions and reporting utilities.

"Our growing ReportGen user community contributes heavily to the direction we take when evolving and developing new updates. It forces us to continually take a fresh look at what the industry needs. As a result, our developers have made nearly 100 adjustments to improve the typical work-flows of our users, further reducing the learning-curve. The demand for rich interactive reports with responsive content in context with background information drives our efforts for new API features for developers and integrators," explained PDF3D's CEO, Ian Curington.

A few of the key features in PDF3D V2.13.0 are:

  • User experience improvement, refactored menu design
  • STEP & IGES CAD Model file type import
  • DWG internal references optimisation
  • Windows 10, Mac El Capitan updates
  • Chinese language menus added
  • Color Legend visual preview display
  • Automatic view cycling feature and dynamic caption example
  • STL Binary files with part colour
  • Illustration silhouette controls
  • SDK Platform updates with Visual Studio 2015, QT v5, CMake v3, XCode v7, Redhat 7
