InterSpec, Inc. Announces Sponsorship of New Continuing Education Course

Jun 22, 2016 -- InterSpec, Inc., the industry leading provider of Automated Specification Management software, has announced their sponsorship of a new continuing education course for design professionals and specifiers. Titled “BIM and Automating Specifications” this AIA registered course earns attendees 1 hour of AIA Health, Safety & Welfare continuing education credit to apply towards maintaining an AIA membership or state license.

Upon completion of this course the design professional will be able to:

  • Define Building Information Modeling (BIM) and discuss the challenges associated with utilizing BIM when producing project specifications
  • Compare and contrast UniFormat and MasterFormat and explain how these systems can be integrated from design through specification development
  • Describe automated specification management systems and explain how these systems can improve the workflow processes in a design firm, from schematic design through bidding
  • List best practices for employing an automated specification management system in their firm’s workflow

“We are fully committed to the construction specification industry,” said Gilles Letourneau, President and CEO of InterSpec Inc. “We are pleased to help build an understanding around the many benefits of automating specification writing to the end user, particularly in relation to time savings and accuracy.  We see too many cases where design and engineering firms would love to provide clients with integrated specifications with Revit based projects but don’t have a good educational source to help layout the workflow and advise them on what to watch out for during the design and documentation process.  I think this course will go a long way in addressing these concerns and help bridge that gap.”

The course is being offered nationally by  Ron Blank and Associates, Inc.
