Esri's Federal Small Business Program Grows at Rapid Pace

Over 50 Small Business Partners Become Members of Specialty

REDLANDS, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — June 22, 2016 — Since the inception of the Esri Federal Small Business Specialty in February, Esri has garnered participation from over 50 industry partners, bringing their expertise to provide geospatial solutions and applications to US federal government customers.

The specialty gives small businesses a unique program that will help them deepen their geographic information system (GIS) skills and prepare for upcoming federal procurements. One component includes a one-day sales and business development boot camp. Kathy O'Day, vice president, business development, Lynker Technologies, commented, "We found the event very worthwhile and helpful in terms of pursuing new opportunities with Esri and further understanding capabilities and programs."

In addition to business development support, the specialty prepares developer staff with a series of hands-on workshops utilizing Esri technology. "The web application developer workshop allowed us to expand our expertise on Esri's Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS to quickly create new applications for our customers," said Louis Rodriguez, president, Rodriguez Consulting.

Several participants in the specialty will be exhibiting at the Esri User Conference (Esri UC) in the GIS Solutions EXPO, from June 28 to 30, 2016, in San Diego, California. The Esri UC will also provide an opportunity for small businesses to network with customers and other partners in the specialty. "We are looking forward to the small business booth walk, where we will be able to highlight our latest solutions using web GIS and spatial analytics," said Michael Lippmann, principal, Blue Raster.
