Green Building Research Institute (GBRI), USGBC Education Partner & AIA Education Provider, Launches Online Continuing Education Opportunity for Architects, Engineers and Green Building Professionals

New course series from GBRI, the nation's most respected provider of LEED & AIA professional education, has been approved by GBCI and AIA for continuing education credits

FOREST HILLS, N.Y., May 18, 2016 — (PRNewswire) —  "Breaking Ground: The Future of Green Building," the newest course series from GBRI (the nation's most respected provider of LEED & AIA professional education) has been approved by both GBCI and the American Institute of Architects to provide LEED & AIA professionals with continuing education credits. Professionals who complete a course are eligible to receive 30 GBCI approved CE Hours & 28 AIA Approved HSW LUs (including 6 LEED Specific BD+C, ID+C & O+M CE hours). A wide range of topics will be covered, including: LEED v4, WELL Building Standard, Healthcare and School Certification Projects, Biomimicry, Building Level Energy and Water Metering, Ecotourism, Sustainability in the Supply Chain and more.

Delivered virtually live and in an on-demand format, the courses gives professionals up to two full years in which to complete the curriculum, making it easy to complete the continuing education requirements required to maintain LEED and/or AIA credentials.

"As professionals with decades of experience in green building and design, we understand that it's not easy to find the time for a course when you're in the midst of projects. To meet the needs of those in this field, our students can participate in our courses online, at times that are most convenient to them," commented Kayla Gerstenberg, Director of Education. GBRI courses give professionals the ability to pause/stop anywhere and, upon returning, pick up right where they left off. Though finding LEED & AIA continuing education courses that meet the requirements of both USGBC and AIA can be confusing, GBRI makes it easy by having achieved pre-approval through both organizations. In an initiative to make the process seamless for their students, complimentary auto-reporting to both organizations is provided.

"We value the high-caliber work that our students, who are architects, engineers and green building professionals, do on a daily basis - and, in turn, we have taken great care to provide them with quality educational opportunities from the industry's most qualified instructors," stated Jeslin Varghese, Director of Sustainability. GBRI takes an interactive approach to education, seeking to engage students rather than to fall back on the standard plain presentation that is the most commonly used method for providing LEED & AIA continuing education credits. Interested professionals can visit the GBRI website to learn more or sign up for the mailing list to stay informed of new opportunities.
