eSports Leader Pro Gaming League Wraps Up Successful Lvl Up Expo in Las Vegas

Popular non-profit gaming festival draws together gamers, enthusiasts, stars and fans from around the world

SAN FRANCISCO, May 16, 2016 — (PRNewswire) —  As the field of eSports continues to experience rapid growth, Pro Gaming League (PGL), an eSports organization that brings gamers together to compete and socialize, successfully concluded participation in the annual LvL Up Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. Held at the Cashman Center over two days of May 14 and 15, PGL facilitated a number of gaming tournaments with rich cash prize pools which were broadcast live on Twitch.tv.

According to the eSports Market Update 2015/2016 by SuperData, the global eSports market is worth $748M and will reach $1.9B by 2018E. Viewership in 2015 grew to 188M as pro players and teams reach celebrity status.  

PGL played a major role in the non-profit convention that drew together fans of gaming tournaments, cosplay, technology and anime under one roof. Now in its fourth year and going strong, Pro Gaming League facilitated a variety of tournaments that were broadcast live on Twitch.tv during the two day convention.

PGL sponsored the top tournaments with $5,000 Super Smash Bros and $2,500 Hearthstone prize pools.

Other tournaments included Call of Duty Black Ops 3, League of Legends 5v5, Halo 5 Team Slayer 2v2, Mario Cart 8 1v1, Rock Band 4 Battle of the Bands, CrossFire, Street Fighter 5 and GUILTY GEAR XRD Revelator.

Personalities that attended include: star Jeremy Shada; alternative punk band Make Out Monday; star Steve Blum; star Mary Elizabeth McGlynn; YouTube Celebrity "Angry" Joe Vargas; Super Smash Bros celebrities D1 and TK Breezy; VGBootCamp and various cosplay stars.

As well, PGL hosted and sponsored a well-attended and much needed Level Up Expo "Decompression Party" in the Commissary at the Downtown Grand, Las Vegas's leading eSports Hotel.

The popular KPop Battles XV returned to Las Vegas this year as part of the expo, featuring the first time Super ANX and Kpop Battles were live streamed through Twitch.tv. Expo sponsors included Microsoft, Alienware, CrossFire, Mad Cats and Jasco.
