Basis Technology Hires Public Sector Technology Expert to Expand U.S. Government Business

Company Responds to Growing Demand for its Text Analytics Products in U.S. Intelligence, Military, and Civilian Agencies

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., May 5, 2016 — (PRNewswire) —   Basis Technology, the leader in multilingual text analytics and cyber forensics, today announced Chris Biow as Senior Vice President of the U.S. Public Sector. Chris has primary responsibility for ensuring that product development meets the needs of government customers as part of the company's extended government strategy and increased investment in its local multidisciplinary team.

Basis Technology CEO Carl Hoffman said Biow had "the right balance of government and commercial experience, technical depth, and character we were looking to add to our senior management team. And he shares the same commitment to customers that is core to our company values."

"For 15 years I've been heavily involved in text and search, while working for the public sector, at MongoDB, MarkLogic, and Verity. I've watched Basis Technology evolve and grow into the recognized thought leader in multilingual text analytics," Biow said. "It's exciting now to join the team, knowing how well our solutions apply machine learning to meet the challenges of text analysis, name matching, and cyber forensics. Basis Technology is ready to advance the mission of any agency that deals with messy, complex, unstructured data and seeks the connections among people, places, and organizations."

Hoffman added that "placing senior leadership in our Northern Virginia office enables us to keep current on the needs of our government users. But more importantly, it lets us maintain a close relationship with each one, enabling us to deliver the right solution at the right time."

Biow is looking forward to gathering input from attendees at the upcoming GEOINT Symposium on May 16-17; the SOFIC Conference on May 23-26; and the DoDIIS Worldwide Conference on August 1-3. Prior to the GEOINT Symposium, he will share some of his ideas at the "Leveraging Open Source Intelligence" workshop on May 16.
