Boston, MA in Cesium featuring CyberCity 3D buildings
March 30, 2016 (El Segundo, CA): CyberCity 3D, Inc.™ (CC3D), a global leader in the creation of the 3D built environment, today announced an enhanced streaming 3D building services agreement with Analytical Graphics, Inc. ® (AGI), a top developer of commercial modeling and analysis software, and curator of Cesium®.
Through Cesium, the open-source Java Script library for world-class 3D globes and maps, CC3D will offer significant value-added content delivered through high-end web architecture, easily integrated into existing data sources and business processes. This agreement establishes a new pricing model reflecting all of the benefits of working in the cloud.
CyberCity 3D's new pricing and service model benefits end-users at several different levels, from basic economics (the cost to stream massive data sets is extremely low) to the alleviation of past technical impairments such as installing and learning new software, especially on the desktop. Software as a Service (SaaS) in the cloud allows clients to easily and more efficiently manage data because everything is at your fingertips, leading to a cycle of success. It’s turnkey magic!
"Our accelerated development cycle with AGI and the Cesium team has allowed CyberCity 3D to offer significant new data and features to users of our streaming building services,” stated CyberCity 3D CEO Kevin DeVito. “While our progress is significant, this is just the beginning of our planned offerings, which no other GIS provider can match."
Last July, CC3D was the first provider to stream 3D building and terrain services on AGI’s open source Cesium globe. Since then, Cesium has streamed numerous cities using CC3D’s best-in-class data including Miami, Washington, D.C., Honolulu, Chicago, Boston, and London. These lightning-fast 3D streaming maps work in all environments including desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices.
Over the past six months, Cesium has implemented major improvements to its streaming globe. The addition of its 3D tiles technology to manage 3D content in the web environment heightens the user experience by grouping the data into an optimal tiling structure. In addition to its ground-breaking 3D tiling, KML support has also been added to transition 3D implementations previously used on Google Earth™ to Cesium's state-of-the-art terrain server. Lastly, performance in terrain and imaging rendering has significantly improved, boosting speed and performance. In essence, nothing on the market comes close to what Cesium achieves in a complete web architecture environment.
