The Young and the Restless and Days of our Lives Each Nominated for Outstanding Drama Series
LOS ANGELES, March 24, 2016 — (PRNewswire) — Sony Pictures Television, one of the television industry's leading content providers, garnered 52 Daytime Emmy Award nominations today, with nods for Outstanding Drama Series for both The Young and the Restless and Days of our Lives, the seventh consecutive nomination for Outstanding Talk Show/Informative for The Dr. Oz Show and for Dr. Oz himself as Outstanding Informative Talk Show Host and a nomination for Outstanding Game Show for Jeopardy! among others.
The 52 nominations is a new record-high total for the studio, eclipsing the prior record 49 nominations, set last year.
The Dr. Oz Show, which entered into its seventh season in September, was nominated for Outstanding Talk Show/Informative for the seventh consecutive year. The Dr. Oz Show production team is led by executive producer Amy Chiaro. This is also Dr. Mehmet Oz's seventh nomination as Outstanding Informative Talk Show Host. The show received nominations as well for Outstanding Directing in a Talk Show/Entertainment News or Morning Show, Outstanding Technical Team, Outstanding Main Title and Graphic Design and Outstanding Live and Direct to Tape Sound Mixing.
Jeopardy! earned nominations for Outstanding Game Show and Outstanding Directing in a Game Show, with Wheel of Fortune also earning a nomination for Outstanding Directing in a Game Show.
Sony also received multiple Daytime Emmy nominations for their perennial favorite soap operas – The Young and the Restless and Days of our Lives, earning a total of 43 nominations for the two shows, including a leading 27 nominations for The Young and the Restless and 16 nominations for Days of our Lives.
