"I want JBC to be a renowned and consolidated brand in China just like it is in Europe, USA and Mexico"

Mar 14, 2016 -- In 2015 JBC expanded its business model in China, the world’s second largest economy and the biggest trading partner for most Asian economies. It is  a huge and expanding market for JBC tools and services.

Who could lead such an ambitious project? Only someone who is totally dedicated. Our company is committed to taking on talented and productive staff. That is why  JBC’s current China Sales Manager, Billy Shen, joined the company.

How did you first hear about JBC?

It was in 2011. I was working for  IPC China and looking for sponsors for the IPC Hand Soldering Competition. Then I ran into a sales manager from JBC and we got to talking.

What is your role at JBC?

I’m the current Sales Manager in China. I’m responsible for maintaining and increasing sales with JBC’s existing customer base as well as developing network lead sources and key accounts in China.

Before working at JBC, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

I was the Master of Ceremonies at all the events held by IPC China. Was that unusual? Not unusual, but definitely interesting.

How has JBC helped you in your career development?

JBC has recently opened a new office in China and has given me this new role as Sales Manager, which is naturally a great step forward in my career and also a real challenge!

What 3 words would you use to describe JBC?

They are  Excellence Technology and  Professionalism.

What do you find most challenging about the job?

Spreading the company name in China.  I want JBC to be a renowned and consolidated brand in China just like it is in Europe, USA and Mexico.

What is on your wish list for the next 10 years with our company?

Reach the top! Become the number one company in the business of soldering and rework equipment for electronics, not only in China but the whole world.

What advice would you give to recent new hires?

My piece of advice would be: learn everything about our tools, you will definitely be impressed, and then convey that passion to customers and include it in everything you do.

What are your hopes for our industry?

I hope the industry will keep growing, because I see that electronics products can have a great impact on people’s lives, making them easier and more interesting.

What would you highlight of  productronica China 2016?

The company has been exhibiting at the trade show since 2012. We always present our latest innovations. The most outstanding ones this year are the  new high-powered  hot air stations, the  preheater sets and, of course, our  system B·Net, which allows medium and big companies total control over the soldering process: they can configure all stations at the same time and apply a specific configuration to each product line. And that’s impressive!

But,  productronica China also  give us the chance to find out how the SMT equipment could meet the changing needs of the Chinese manufacturing industry.

Are you coming to productronica China 2016?
Billy and his colleagues will be glad to talk to you at Hall E1 Booth 1526.
