Aldec to Unveil HES-7 High-speed AXI Transmission Channel at DVCon 2016

HENDERSON, Nev. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — February 24, 2016 — Aldec, Inc., a pioneer in mixed HDL language simulation and hardware-assisted verification solutions for system and ASIC designs, today announces the latest release of its software utility package for HES-7™ high speed prototyping boards, HES7.ASIC.Proto2016.01. This release provides HES-7 users with a fast, ready-to-use transmission infrastructure based on PCI-Express x8 interface. The connection point with the design under test has been realized using industry standard AMBA AXI4, delivering transmission speeds between software side and FPGA at 2+GB/s.

“With the constantly increasing popularity of our HES-7 prototyping solutions, we are observing high demand for easy-to-use communication channels providing highest speeds of transmission for multimedia and big data processing applications,” said Zibi Zalewski, General Manager of Aldec’s Hardware Division. “We have chosen the AXI4 interface due to its popularity in various SoC projects and PCIe interface with our optimized DMA controller to handle the speed requirement.”

More information is available in the following technical document, Getting started with Aldec HES7ProtoAXI.

Aldec will be demonstrating this new AXI prototyping infrastructure for HES-7 at The Design and Verification Conference ( DVCon 2016) San Jose, CA from February 29 – March 2, 2016.
