OGC, InLocation Alliance and i-locate Project Seek Input on Use Cases and Benefits of Indoor Positioning

PISCATAWAY, NJ -- (Marketwired) -- Jan 21, 2016 -- The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC®), the InLocation Alliance (ILA) and the i-locate Project invite you to contribute to a survey on use cases and benefits of indoor positioning.

Kirk Burroughs, board chair of InLocation Alliance stated that "the indoor positioning market is currently translating the successful use cases of "outdoor" GPS based positioning indoors, and has the potential to deliver significant benefits to both application users and application providers. ILA is reaching out to the various industries, from retail to transportation, from healthcare to emergency services, etc., where indoor LBS can be a transforming technology."

The survey is intended to provide the three organizations with a current snapshot of the requirements of different stakeholders (within and beyond OGC and ILA members), so that the organizations will have an up-to-date overview of the market for indoor positioning. The survey results will be published in a joint ILA and OGC white paper that will be available to the public.

The survey is available online at this address: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1X6Im1nlzph6mNc9vPiuymmROLoM8U4w6kgvuiyErdvc/viewform?usp=send_form.

All responses will be treated as anonymous and the resulting analytics will be checked to ensure that no company can be identified based on the published analysis. Multiple answers from affiliates of the same company are allowed and encouraged.

The deadline for filling out the survey is February 11, 2016.
