The Stockholm-based studio brings together industry heavyweights from King, Rovio, DICE, Unity, Zynga and others; Reveals first game title details

STOCKHOLM, Dec. 16, 2015 — (PRNewswire) —  With a team of industry veterans who've worked on some of the most successful mobile games ever released, Snowprint Studios has today revealed its formation and announced details around its first game title. Snowprint Studios is a mobile free-to-play games company focused on the development of accessible mid-core games for a wider audience of players. The company has also completed an initial seed round of funding of an undisclosed amount led by Jari Ovaskainen, past CEO of IObox and early investor in Supercell.

Joining Ekvall at Snowprint Studios are more than a dozen designers, artists and industry professionals with experiences from a wide range of top tier companies, working on some of the world's most prominent games. Former leads from DICE, Rovio, King, Zynga and more make up the companies current core team.

Additionally, Snowprint's initial advisors include Wooga's head of studio Wilhelm Österberg, i/o ventures' managing partner Paul Bragiel, and Next Games' CEO Teemu Huuhtanen.

The studio's first game will be a new kind of role-playing game (RPG) set in the epic realm of Norse mythology. Players will build their own teams as they defend Middle Earth from the icy warriors of Niflheim, competing in tactical, puzzle-based battles and collecting heroes that can evolve their godlike powers along the way.
