Made By Girls & The Girls' Middle School of Palo Alto Celebrate Female Role Models

LOS GATOS, Calif., Dec. 4, 2015 — (PRNewswire) —  Made by Girls, Digital Media Academy's initiative dedicated to empowering girls through technology, is proud to host "A Conversation with Women in STEM" in conjunction with The Girls' Middle School of Palo Alto.

A thrilling opportunity to meet and hear from some of the great women of tech, "A Conversation with Women in STEM" also provides tech exhibits and more. Happening this Saturday in Palo Alto at The Girls' Middle School, between 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Attendance is free and open to all girls!

In anticipation of Computer Science Education (CSEd) Week, the event will be held this Saturday, December 5th, and is free and open to all girls.

"A Conversation With Women in STEM" — An Extraordinary Opportunity for Young Girls

Role models make a lifelong difference in children's lives, so Made By Girls is proud to feature women who've worked for NASA, Google, Apple, DreamWorks and Unity Technologies.

These women have wonderful stories about bringing their personality and passion to tech. They'll share what's been challenging, surprising and rewarding about working in their respective fields, as well as how they've been able to express their ideas and creativity through computer science. 

The event will be held on Dec. 5th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. (with check-in at 12:30 p.m.) at The Girls' Middle School, located at 3400 West Bayshore Road, Palo Alto, Calif., 94303.

The event will also have interactive activities where girls can meet the panelists and learn more about their work, view the newest apps in Oculus Rift and Google Cardboard, code their own visual masterpieces with Vidcode, and learn about coding for animation and space exploration!

Made by Girls is a Digital Media Academy program dedicated to empowering girls through technology. Early exposure, strong mentors, encouragement from family and good role models all make an influential impact on building lasting tech confidence in girls.

MBG courses provide an encouraging learning environment designed to increase confidence in coding and computer science. Classes are led by female mentors dedicated to serving as role models and building a supportive community for learning STEM.
