LeTV Adopts Conexant AudioSmart Technology for New Family of Smart TVs

IRVINE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- Nov 10, 2015 -- The home entertainment experience just got smarter in China. Conexant Systems Inc., an audio and imaging innovation leader, announced that its high-performance far-field voice input processor system-on-chip (SoC) -- the CX2092x -- has been adopted by LeTV for its new Super TV 3 family of Smart TVs including the Ultra 3 X50, X55, X55 Pro and Max65. Conexant recognizes that voice is a natural extension of the user interface, and has designed the CX2092x to give users the ability to use their voice to control their TVs. Conexant's AudioSmart™ technology makes voice control possible even in noisy, far-field conditions of up to five meters away and at any angle relative to the microphone.

The demand for increasingly advanced features in electronics is on the rise -- particularly in China, where the adoption rate of Smart TVs hovers around 50 percent more than that of North America. Conexant has developed the industry's best far-field voice processing solution and is the only company that can provide features such as advanced control and search, 'always-listening' mode in an ultra low-power state and echo cancellation that allows users to talk to the TV while it is on, from anywhere in the room.

"The choice of Conexant as our partner for our new lineup of Smart TVs was an easy one to make," said Liang Jun, COO of LeTV's Smart Device Group and president of Le Shi Zhi Xin. "They are the clear industry leader in far-field voice processing, and have provided us with top-tier support to develop a high-performance, customized, differentiated solution for the Chinese market. We are changing the way people are interacting with their TVs -- delivering a better, more user friendly experience."

Conexant's innovative far-field voice processing is the key differentiating factor to providing the best end user experience. With Conexant inside, users can say goodbye to the remote control. Embedded voice control capabilities alleviate the need for on-screen keyboards that require users to type by moving a cursor at a slow pace. Users can simply say, "Go to CNN" for easy, hands-free channel navigation.

Designed specifically for Smart TVs, Conexant's CX2092x combines an integrated DSP CODEC processor with powerful, efficient voice processing algorithms to create a true far-field voice processing solution for consumer electronics. Conexant's AudioSmart solutions offer the optimum mixed signal and DSP technology for high-fidelity voice and audio processing.

Key features include:

  • Fully-integrated Wake-on-Voice solution with embedded third party speech recognition engine
  • Excellent speech recognition hit rate and clear voice quality
  • Compatibility with multiple leading speech recognition vendors
  • Reference design with pre-tuned "hidden" microphone module for industrial design esthetics and performance
  • Dual 24 bit ADC and microphone preamp with independent microphone bias supply

"Conexant has become the industry standard for far-field voice processing for Smart Homes, including Smart TVs, set-top boxes, home appliances, speakers and other IoT applications," said Saleel Awsare, Conexant senior vice president and general manager. "The typical household presents many challenges that make voice control difficult or even impossible. Children talking, appliances running and dogs barking all compete with voice commands being heard and understood. Our technology eliminates background noise and makes voice control possible."

The AudioSmart CX2092x is part of the Conexant Smart TV portfolio. The CX2092x is available in a 60-QFN package. EVKs are currently available to qualified customers and partners. Please visit www.conexant.com for more details.
