ROMER Absolute Arm tube measurement system has first public showing

Nov 9, 2015 -- Hexagon Metrology announced today the first public showing of its new TubeShaper software at FABTECH 2015, Booth #S522, November 9-12, at McCormick Place, Chicago, IL. FABTECH is North America's largest, annual trade show catering to metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing professionals. TubeShaper is designed specifically to apply the measurement capability of the ROMER Absolute Arm coordinate measuring machine (CMM) to applications such as tube production, tube and pipe inspection, reverse engineering of tubes and tube assemblies, and tube gauging. The portable and scalable system offers a high level of versatility for the inspection needs of companies specializing in metal forming and fabrication.

Hexagon Metrology will also showcase other measurement solutions in Booth #S522 including the popular ROMER Absolute ARM 7-axis SI series with an integrated laser scanner. Providing both tactile probing and non-contact scanning in one package, the system can address a wide variety of applications from part-to-CAD inspection, reverse engineering, product benchmarking, virtual assembly, and CNC milling applications. Also featured at FABTECH will be the WLS qFLASH, a compact white light solution that rapidly acquires 3D measurements, creates reports and digitizes on the spot.

Rounding out Hexagon's slate of featured products are the Leica Absolute Tracker AT960 and the AT402. The AT960 is a new-generation, high-speed measurement solution for six degrees of freedom (6DoF) probing, reflector measurements, and scanning and automated inspection. The portable, compact laser tracker weighs less than 31 pounds and fits in single flight case. The Leica Absolute Tracker AT402 sustains extreme precision over ultra-large distances. Powered by an internal battery, the portable CMM is built for demanding environments and measurement operations in the largest-ever work envelope.
