The State of Alaska Department of Administration Goes Live with Surplus Management Software from AssetWorks

JUNEAU, ALASKA -- (Marketwired) -- Oct 22, 2015 -- AssetWorks LLC, a leading provider of fixed asset management software solutions, today announced the Alaska Department of Administration, Property Management Office has implemented Federal Surplus Management Software (SMS) from AssetWorks. Leveraging this solution can help the State of Alaska continue to ensure the equitable and appropriate redistribution, sale, and use of federal surplus property.

"Organizations across the state have recognized the benefits of utilizing the Alaska Federal Surplus program," said Chris Brooks, Alaska State Property Manager. "With the automation and mobile capabilities of AssetWorks, we hope to recognize greater efficiencies and help even more qualified organizations benefit from the use of excess federal property."

The Federal Surplus module includes over 30 standard reports and provides comprehensive functionality for the GSA Surplus Property Program, as well as the 1122 and 1033 programs. By interfacing to GSAXcess, SMS can streamline Form 123 processing, automatically transferring data for allocated federal property. The fully integrated solution also includes functionality for donee management, inventory management, utilization and compliance and 3040 reporting. By minimizing data re-entry, providing seamless access to data and maximizing transaction efficiency, the State of Alaska can save time and improve accuracy.

As part of the Alaska Department of Administration, the Alaska Federal Surplus Property program acquires and redistributes federal surplus property to state agencies, local governments, educational institutions and other eligible organizations. The division currently manages transactions for a large number of military and governmental assets ranging from gym equipment and building materials to vehicles, marine and aviation equipment.
