SAN DIEGO, Oct. 7, 2015 — (PRNewswire) — Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) through its subsidiary, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., today announced that it is extending its LTE modem technology leadership to provide fast and reliable cellular connectivity in the next generation of Windows 10 notebooks and tablets for consumers, and enterprise customers. Embedded Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ X12, X7 and X5 LTE modems will support a range of connected user experiences in upcoming Windows 10 notebooks, 2-in-1s and tablets later this year.Compatible with the native Mobile Broadband Interface Model (MBIM) in Windows 10, embedded Snapdragon LTE modems are designed to provide similar mobility experiences on PCs that are found in smartphones. Enterprise users are now increasingly using embedded LTE and location capabilities to enhance security and productivity with new flexible data plans that enable remote data wipe, sponsored connectivity, and pay-as-you-go mobile broadband service on operator networks around the world.
LTE connectivity is being adopted in Windows 10 devices produced by numerous original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) around the world, including Dell, HP, Lenovo and Panasonic. Additionally, Snapdragon LTE embedded modules are available from Foxconn and Sierra Wireless, to name a few.

- An LTE Category 12 modem in the downlink and Category 13 in the uplink that supports download speeds of up to 600 Mbps through 3x downlink Carrier Aggregation (CA) and 256-QAM, as well as upload speeds of up to 150 Mbps through 2x CA and 64-QAM.
- Snapdragon X7 LTE Modem
- An LTE Category 6 modem that supports download speeds of up to 300 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 50 Mbps, with support for 2x20 MHz downlink Carrier Aggregation (CA) for both LTE TDD and FDD global CA deployments.
- Snapdragon X5 LTE Modem
- An LTE Category 4 modem that supports download speeds of up to 150 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 50Mbps in the uplink, with support for 2x10MHz downlink Carrier Aggregation (CA).
