Si2 Announces Agenda and Speakers for 19th Si2 Conference

AUSTIN, Texas — (BUSINESS WIRE) — September 29, 2015 — The Silicon Integration Initiative (Si2) today announced that its 19th Si2 Conference (Si2Con) will be held on October 6, 2015, at the Biltmore Hotel in Santa Clara, CA. The Conference will feature speakers from several of the industry’s leading semiconductor and electronic-design automation (EDA) companies, as well as leaders of important industry programs. The 19th Si2Con is going to focus on topics of industry-wide significance, such as Design for Security and Business in China, as well as highlights from Si2 projects. Three major keynotes will be presented:

The first keynote is titled “Rethinking Cybersecurity from the Inside Out: An Engineering and Life Cycle-Based Approach for Building Trustworthy Resilient Systems”, presented by Ron Ross, Fellow at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, NIST.

The second keynote is titled “China – New Center of the Semiconductor Universe (?)”, presented by Robert 'Bob' Smith, Executive Director, Electronic Design Automation Consortium, EDAC.

The third keynote is titled “Challenges And Opportunities for China in the Semiconductor Industry”, presented by Allen Lu, President, SEMI China.

There will also be a Panel Session: “Pros and Cons of Collaboration”, moderated by Shishpal Rawat, Chairman of Accellera, and Director of Business Enablement Programs, Intel.

Other presentations will include a discussion of the new development programs at Si2, a new Gallium Nitride transistor SPICE model from the Compact Model Coalition, a Low Power Model Proof-of-Concept results, a discussion of the new OpenDevices program, and a real-world application of OpenAccess scripting interface applied to a production environment by one of the world’s leading semiconductor companies.

Breakfast and lunch are included, as well as a networking session after the technical conference. This will showcase demos of advances based on the technologies offered by Si2, and will also serve as a valuable opportunity for networking. Refreshments will be served.
