CCE Enhances Persistent ID Support in its Unified Interop for Parasolid (UIOp) Libraries

Significant Updates Announced in UIOp Build 20150720

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (Sept. 29, 2015) -- CCE, a leading provider in advanced interoperability technology and engineering services, has released an update of its Unified Interop for Parasolid (UIOp) libraries.

“CCE’s latest release of the UIOp toolkit provides our ISV customers the ability to seamlessly embed their solutions in their customer’s multi-CAD work flow,” said Vinay Wagle, CCE’s VP of Sales & Marketing. “This is facilitated by UIOP’s support for Persistent ID for all major CAD systems,” added Vinay.

Some of the key enhancements in the latest build of UIOp include support for latest versions of several formats, which include Solid Edge ST8, Autodesk Inventor 2016, Solid Edge weld format (.pwd), DWF 6.01, 6.20, 6.21, and DWFx 7.0. CCE has also extended support for assembly level features to Creo and Inventor translators. Today, in most leading CAD software packages, a feature can be added at an assembly level that modifies the geometry of the parts, but only in the assembly context; this is especially significant in manufacturing workflows (mold design). CCE’s support for assembly level features helps ISVs provide access to the resultant part geometry that gets changed in the assembly context. Persistent ID support has also been significantly enhanced in Solid Edge and Inventor translators, which provides ISV’s greater flexibility to create associative workflows when dealing with assemblies and allows the ability to incrementally update changes while not having to process the entire assembly.

About Unified Interop for Parasolid (UIOp):

Unified Interop for Parasolid (UIOp) is a set of CAD independent interoperability libraries for Parasolid-based CAx Systems that provide read access to information stored in 3D CAD files via a unified architecture. UIOp is an additional 'layer' created on top of CCE's robust ODX libraries and converts native CAD files to Parasolid. UIOp supports latest versions of CATIA V4, V5, V6, Creo, SOLIDWORKS, Solid Edge, JT, Inventor, Rhino, SketchUp, ACIS, IGES, STEP, STL, and VDA formats.

The libraries are supported on Windows 7, 8, and Linux (RHEL, SUSE) platforms.
