Foundation launches newIndividual Membership program and realigns Organizational Membership offerings

Herndon, Virginia (Aug. 20, 2015)—With members’ feedback in mind, the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) launched a new Individual Membership program and simplified its Organizational Membership. USGIF introduced the new structure at the GEOINT 2015 Symposium.

“These Membership program changes reflectthe natural evolution and maturation of the Foundation and its members,”said USGIF CEO Keith Masback.“It will set USGIF on a path to better serve our membersand the GEOINT Community now and into the future.”

Individual Membership

From across the community USGIF has heard a desire for a more personal, individualized professional organization dedicated to the GEOINT tradecraft. All individuals will now be able to join USGIF and become part of the professional organization for GEOINT practitioners. USGIF’s new Individual Membership program offers more benefits at a lower price, including members-only activities, discounts on event registrations, subscription to trajectory magazine, training and education offerings, an affinity program, and more.

Individual Membership dues for industry are $99 per yearand $35 per year for government, military, first responders, law enforcement, academia, full-time students, and young professionals. There are multi-year discounts as well as a Lifetime Membership option that offers individuals special recognition.

Previously, employees of USGIF Organizational Members occasionally experienced certain member benefits as it related to their company’s membership. In order to continue receiving USGIF membership benefits, Organizational Member employees and anyone in the community must now join USGIF as an individual.

Organizational Membership

USGIFconsolidated its Organizational Membershiplevels to three—Strategic Partner, Associate Partner, and Sustaining Partner—and added Small Business Partner and Academic Partner levels. The new structure makes selection of the right membership level easier to identify based on an organization’s objectives, business size or type, and desired level of participation.
