CHICAGO — (BUSINESS WIRE) — July 28, 2015 — In Florida, the number of construction projects grew nearly 5 percent in the second quarter of 2015 compared to same time period in 2014.

According to the BidClerk Construction Index (BCI), a quarterly report from BidClerk, a leading provider of construction project data, nearly 1,800 projects with a combined contract value of almost $7 billion were released for bid in the second quarter of 2015. Areas in the report included Jacksonville, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Tallahassee, Tampa, and St. Petersburg, Fla.

Florida high profile projects out for bid in the second quarter were:

  • A $30 million office plus parking garage project in Melbourne, Fla.
  • Building Management Systems, general contractor, and Krehl Architect, architect
• Prospect Park
  • $24 million construction of a four-story apartment complex and retail space in Pinellas County
  • ZMG Construction, Inc., general contractor, and Baker Barrios Architects, architect
