Cavium Adds Support for Mellanox InfiniBand Adapters for ThunderX™ Processor Family

High-speed and ultra-low latency connectivity for High Performance Computing environments

(NASDAQ: CAVM), a leading provider of Data Center solutions today announced collaboration with Mellanox Technologies, a leading supplier of end-to-end InfiniBand and Ethernet interconnect solutions for extreme scale computing, data center server and storage systems to deliver InfiniBand connectivity for Cavium's ThunderX processor family.

Pushing the frontiers of science and technology requires extreme-scale computing.  Mellanox specializes in delivering high-bandwidth, high-performance interconnects for HPC, Web 2.0, cloud, storage and financial services markets, increasing datacenter efficiency by providing high throughput and low latency.  Mellanox IB adapters include advanced acceleration technology enabling higher cluster efficiency and large scalability to tens-of-thousands of nodes. 

The ThunderX product family is designed for intensive scale-out workloads such as molecular dynamics, big data, and large-scale graph analytics, providing best-in-class ARMv8 performance with 48 custom cores, single and dual socket support, high memory bandwidth and capacity, and integrated hardware accelerators.
