Hinowa Construction Equipment Selects MSC Apex to Accelerate the Design Process

MSC Apex Modeler will significantly reduce product development time compared to traditional methods

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — June 17, 2015MSC Software Corporation, a global leader in helping product manufacturers to advance their engineering methods with simulation software and services, today announced that Hinowa, an Italian company in the field of lifting equipment, earthmoving and tracked undercarriages, has chosen MSC Apex, the new simulation platform from MSC Software, to improve and optimize their products.

Hinowa has chosen MSC Apex Modeler to manage the process of creating finite element models from CAD, combining it with MSC Nastran for FEM analysis. With MSC Apex Modeler, the mid-surfacing extraction process in a CAD model can be completed in a very short time, to quickly arrive at an accurate FEM model in shell elements; furthermore the computational model is automatically updated based on changes in the CAD model, making even quicker checks on design changes. MSC Apex was chosen following a benchmark that highlighted speed and ease of use compared to other alternatives.

“MSC Apex will further improve our design process by significantly reducing product development time compared to more traditional design methods used so far,” says Zeno Poltronieri, Hinowa Technical Director. “Our customers face increasingly competitive markets and need a partner to support their product design initiatives. Hinowa intends to confirm its position as a technology pioneer and forerunner in new technologies, and that is the reason we selected MSC Apex.”

“MSC Software is a long-time engineering technology partner to companies who recognize the benefits of investing in research and development,” says Massimo Montenegro, Country Manager of MSC Software, Italy. “MSC Apex, in particular, thanks to its ease of use and innovative features designed to accelerate the CAD to mesh process, becomes a key factor in helping companies achieve business competitiveness.”
