Exton, PA, May 14, 2015 -- Analytical Graphics, Inc. (AGI) is previewing a new capability to stream high resolution building models into any Cesium-based client. To provide content for this new service, AGI is working with CyberCity 3D, Inc., a southern California-based geospatial modeling company specializing in “smart” 3D GIS buildings. CyberCity’s buildings enable optimal visual performance, and an open database architecture allowing for the publishing of building attributes and links.
To showcase Cesium’s new streaming building capability, CyberCity 3D is providing a small subset of its 3D buildings as free content in Cesium, which combines them with local zoning and street vector data. This includes 130 km^2 of high resolution building geometry with rooftops; a limited number of textured buildings, created from CyberCity 3D auto-texturing software, are also included.
CyberCity 3D will also use Cesium's streaming building feature to introduce a commercial service for streaming complete city datasets into Cesium, and downloading individual buildings and their attributes for use in other applications. This adds a new dimension of reality to Cesium clients and facilitates urban planning and analysis solutions.
CyberCity 3D CEO Kevin DeVito notes, “This streaming technology, coupled with the Cesium 3D globe, offers complete control of streaming 3D content in an open architecture environment. We’re proud to be a part of this game-changing event.”
