Eagle Circuits Integrates FabStream’s Free PCB Design into Manufacturing Flow

Marlborough, MA – May 12, 2015 –FabStream® ( www.fabstream.com), the integrated printed circuit board (PCB) design and manufacturing solution targeted at the DIY electronics market announced today that Eagle Circuits (Dallas, TX) has integrated SoloPCB Design software into their manufacturing flow. Eagle has become the newest PCB manufacturer to join the FabStream network of global PCB manufacturers.

With SoloPCB Design for Eagle Circuits, customers can download the free PCB design software preloaded with all of Eagle Circuits’ manufacturing rules and pricing information. The customer uses the software to create PCB schematics and layouts and when they are finished, the PCB is automatically priced and ordered through an integrated e-commerce wizard. The wizard extracts all of the necessary manufacturing data into a secure and encrypted, industry standard IPC-2581 manufacturing file. The order information and manufacturing file are electronically routed to Eagle Circuits’ inside sales department for order processing and CAM engineering.

Eagle Circuits sees the combination of free PCB design software with low cost prototypes as a necessity for many DIY electronic enthusiasts to eliminate the barriers with creating electronic PCB systems. These customers tend to be less experienced in PCB design so purchasing a commercial solution is difficult to justify financially and much of the free software will not meet their needs. “The DIY electronics market is a growing market sector where innovation and creativity are supported through multiple fronts from open source hardware, to software, services, and community. We believe the FabStream and Eagle partnership provides a strategic advantage to service this rapidly emerging end user,” added Naik.

Eagle Circuits will support FabStream’s “Standard Construction” option where a customer can select a preset PCB construction. Designs created using this option can be “pooled” with other designs onto a single panel to help reduce the overall cost of fabrication. In turn the savings will be passed on to customers to create a very low cost design and manufacturing option. In addition, Eagle plans on offering a variety of full-feature manufacturing services including production of 1-16 layer boards in a variety of sizes, material thicknesses and technologies.
