Teledyne Optech bringing improved submerged object detection to MAST Asia 2015

May 6, 2015Teledyne Optech is pleased to announce that it will have a strong presence at MAST Asia 2015 on May 13-15 in Yokohama, Japan. Staff from Teledyne Optech will present a paper on submerged object detection, while the multispectral Titan and the newly redesigned CZMIL Nova will take center stage with innovative solutions for coastal security and defense at Stand 51.

Attendees at the Satellite Airborne Detection session will hear Teledyne Optech’s Judah Westby present “Increasing Small Submerged Object Detection Performance using Airborne Lidar Systems” starting at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 13. This paper will reveal the technologies that the Optech CZMIL Nova uses to detect 1-m objects even up to 25 meters below the water surface, including a highly sensitive photomultiplier tube (PMT), two fields of view for both shallow and deep searching, and improved identification with hyperspectral imagery. With practical examples for object detection, seafloor classification and more, this presentation is a must for any group interested in coastal security using a sensor that has been validated by several government agencies.

The Teledyne Optech stand will host a presentation on submerged object detection as well, with a product briefing titled “Object Detection & Intelligence Gathering with Optech Airborne Lidars & Cameras” taking place on Thursday, May 14 at 10:10 am. Staff will be on hand at all times to answer in-depth questions about the CZMIL Nova, which combines deep object detection and unparalleled turbid water penetration with lighter hardware suitable for installation into smaller aircraft. Of additional significance is the fact that CZMIL Nova was built to meet military specs for shock, vibration, EMC and more. Visitors can also ask about the new multispectral  Optech Titan airborne lidar and learn how to use its three laser channels for both 3D spectral feature identification and up to 20 mclear water bathymetry during a single flight. Information about these solutions, plus Teledyne Optech’s other solutions for high-fidelity geospatial intelligence mapping, tactical surveillance, reconnaissance, and coastal infrastructure scanning will be available at Stand 51.
