New SMIRT Customer in South Africa

Apr 21, 2015 -- MA Automotive Tool and Die choose SMIRT to improve the die manufacturing efficiency in their tool-shop, based in Uitenhage, South Africa.

MA Automotive Tool and Die is part of MA, a company of Group CLN, an Italian industrial group active in the automotive industry, with the production of steel sheet metal, stamped parts, automotive structural modules, wheels and mechanical components.

Within the group, MA is specialized in producing and assembling steel automotive structural parts, components, subassemblies and modules. It is present in Italy, Europe, South America, Africa and Asia, and today manages 26 production plants.

MA Automotive Tool and Die was on the market to find a software solution to help improve their manufacturing process for stamping dies. An evaluation test allowed MA to verify a 46% time saving in linear machining with the use of SMIRT DieNc versus their standard process. Following this great result and an analysis of the possible impact of different SMIRT products on their efficiency, they made an initial investment on SMIRT DieShop and SMIRT DieNc. Further investments on SMIRT modules are in the budget for the following years.

In March 2015, consultant Cosimo Galante completed the initial training at MA Automotive: Louis Swanepoel (supervisor of the machining department) and Herman Goosen (senior CAD/CAM engineer) have been trained in depth and will be the internal reference and trainers to extend the use of SMIRT to machine and CAD/CAM operators, and to die makers.

We are glad to welcome MA Automotive Tool and Die to the SMIRT user community, and we are looking forward for a long and successful cooperation between our two companies.
