DVDFab Media Player 2.4.0.0 for Mac: Video Playback Controlled by Hotkeys and Hand Gestures

BEIJING — (BUSINESS WIRE) — March 19, 2015 — On March 19, 2015, DVDFab Media Player, the industry leader when it comes to Blu-ray playback solution, released an updated ver. 2.4.0.0 of its  Mac Blu-ray player, mainly adding the features of keyboard shortcut (hotkey), trackpad gesture, storyline preview, and a refined virtual remote, to present people the best ever playback control experience. Read on for a rich story.

Don’t Ditch Your Keyboard; You Can Make More out of It

The newly released version can help you make more out of your keyboard. It allows you to use a host of shortcuts, or hotkeys, to control the video playback. However, the feature is not activated by default; you have to manually switch it on by navigating to Preferences>General. If you want to know exactly how many hotkeys are supported, just click the “Help” button where you enable the feature, or press and hold the Command button for three seconds. A pop-up window with details of the shortcuts shall come up right in front of your eyes, and to hide that window, simply release the Command button.

Get Your Trackpad Ready for the Video Playback Control

Apart from the keyboard shortcuts, the new version of this Mac video player also adds support for the Trackpad Gestures. This means you can leave the playback control to a collection of hand gestures. Again, to get started, you need to go to Preferences>General, and then make sure the option of “Enable Trackpad Gesture” is ticked. To get a general idea about what kind of gestures are supported, click the “Help” button. Then you will see another window showing up, explaining clearly how many gestures are supported and how they work.

The Refined Storyline Preview and Virtual Remote

Storyline Preview and Virtual Remote are not new in this version; however, they get significantly improved. At the Storyline Preview window, many thumbnails are listed in chronological order. And in the top middle of this window lie two sliding bars. The right one is to zoom the thumbnails in and out, and the left one lets you freely set the time intervals between each two neighboring thumbnails, which means sliding to the left or right determines the quantity of thumbnails. Finally, clicking any single thumbnail starts to play the video from that specified time point. As to the Virtual Remote, compared to the previous version it now gets an advanced edition featuring more robust functions.
