"Bury Me in Her Eyes" Makes Literary History as First-Ever Multilingual Work

Lone English translation housed in Cambridge University's Rare Books Collection

NICOSIA, Cyprus, March 16, 2015 — (PRNewswire) —  Pseudonymous author Non Nomen's latest achievement is one of daring and hope – "Bury Me in Her Eyes," the first-ever multilingual literary work, challenges readers to see past linguistic and cultural obstacles as part of encouraging a new kind of social unity. The novel's fluid, poetic nature, coupled with gorgeous illustrations, conveys a beauty that transcends language. More information about the book and about the author's artistic vision is available at his personal website: http://www.nonnomen.com/.

"Reading a book is usually a solitary experience; a very personal, confined relationship between words and reader," explained Non Nomen. "I want to unsettle this relationship by creating an artistic and linguistic puzzle that requires collaboration and social interaction among readers of vastly different cultural backgrounds."

"'Bury Me in Her Eyes' makes it clear from the start that you cannot read this alone. The absence of a translation in the book might be commercial suicide, but if I can get an Israeli to come in friendly contact with a Palestinian in a shared attempt to unlock the book's secrets and mysteries, then I will have achieved my goal."

The only English translation of the book, the "Newtonian" edition, resides in the Rare Books Collection at Cambridge University. The edition was one of 28 different translations – one for each of the languages presented in the book – donated to select libraries around the world. Together, these unique editions comprise The Titans Collection.

Like his debut novel, "The Unwords," "Bury Me in Her Eyes" is written in the author's signature "Graphic-verse," an approach to storytelling that brings imagery together with text in a distinctive and provocative fashion. A blend of otherworldly romance and science fiction, "Bury Me in Her Eyes" imagines a love that defies the limits of space, time and human knowledge.

Today, Non Nomen is at work on his next ambitious project, "The Torn Apart."
