Thales Alena Space Dramatically Cuts Design to Production Times with NI AWR Design Environment

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – March 10, 2015 --  NI (formerly AWR Corporation) announces that Thales Alenia Space (TAS) Italy has successfully developed a complete RF/microwave flow using NI AWR Design Environment™, dramatically cutting design-to-production times and increasing design reuse. TAS developed this flow by linking Microwave Office circuit design software via its application-programming interface (API) to TAS process design kits and components libraries, thereby enabling designers to integrate real components from their predefined libraries into the actual designs.

“Microwave Office enables us to customize NI AWR Design Environment through its comprehensive API to connect with our existing industrial product design flows,” said Paolo Valerio Giove and Antonio Salvato, microwave engineers at Thales Alenia Space, Italy.  “Moreover, Microwave Office offers a wide variety of simulation technologies and natively interacts with other available simulators, allowing us to achieve complex designs without ever leaving the same environment. This custom design flow has helped us to achieve a dramatic reduction in design-to-production times and significant increase in project reuse.”
