Lattice Semiconductor and Helion Demonstrate New FPGA-Based Camera Design Solutions at SPIE Photonics West 2015

Companies Show How to Accelerate Development of Advanced Camera Designs With Low-Cost, Low-Density FPGAs

HILLSBORO, OR February 9, 2015 - Lattice Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ: LSCC) the leader in low power, small form factor, customizable solutions, and Helion GmbH today announced they will demonstrate several new FPGA-based camera design solutions at the upcoming  SPIE Photonics West show, February 10-12, at San Francisco’s Moscone Center on booth 5517. Show attendees can see first-hand how the world's smallest, lowest-cost-per I/O programmable devices are enabling new HD quality camera solutions for Industrial and Automotive markets.

Lattice and Helion will showcase the LatticeECP3™ FPGA  HDR-60 Camera Development Kit and Helion's  IONOS Image Signal Processing IP as a base platform and demonstrate High Dynamic Range (HDR) using Fairchild Imaging’s HWK1910A rolling-shutter sensor, and High-Definition and Megapixel Image Processing solutions using Sony IMX104 and IMX136 image sensors.

The LatticeECP3 FPGA will interface directly to a variety of HD sensors, process the image for intelligent analytics and output the video through its high-speed I/O or through a combination of its integrated 16 SERDES channels, making the solution very compelling for machine vision, factory automation and video surveillance applications.

Other demonstrations will showcase HDR-60 based auto focus and liquid lens solutions from Varioptics, highlighting how the fast focusing, very low power and high shock resistance of Varioptic’s liquid lens technology, combined with low power, low density FPGA devices, expands the range of applications available to industrial automation customers.
