CHGT Develops New Business Model to Serve Increasing Demand for Mass Customization

HOUSTON — (BUSINESS WIRE) — February 6, 2015 — In a bold bid to meet the increasing global demand for mass customization, Changing Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: CHGT) is developing a business strategy to offer clients custom, 3D-printing plans for everyday consumer products.

“More and more, consumers expect manufacturers to meet their individualized, specific product needs,” said CHGT CEO Omar T. Durham. “3D printing is the clear solution to small-scale, customized manufacturing, and we want to be a leader in this emerging industry.”

New tech breakthroughs are leading to an era of “mass customization,” where consumers can download or contribute to the design process of a product like a necklace, an orthotic footbed, headphones or an action figure. By printing one product at a time, 3D printers can create items that best suit the buyer’s identity, shape or preference.

CHGT has targeted what the company believes is an unfulfilled need in the 3D printing marketplace to assist consumers with custom-printed projects too costly or difficult to manufacture in the traditional fashion. The company is developing plans to provide custom builds for everyday uses—Everything from auto parts for vintage sports cars to customizable add-ons and accessories for autonomous drones.

“The emerging capabilities of this technology are astounding, and we’re positioning CHGT on the ground floor of this industry,” Durham said.

CHGT and subsidiary 6th Dimension Technologies are on the verge of launching  an interactive, on-demand 3D printing retail portal that will bring the 3D printing experience directly to users and capitalize on the influx of new consumers to the market.
